WHEREAS, Kevin Quigley was born on February 26, 1964 to Robert Blair and Rosemary (Fitzsimmons) Quigley. He was raised in the North Side neighborhood of the City of Pittsburgh and is the youngest of seven, namely Robert, Ronald, Deborah, Rose, Richard, Donna and Kevin. He is the proud father of Kevin Jr, Joseph Sinatra, Kathleen and Shannon; and,

WHEREAS, Gertrude Stein was born February 3, 1874 on Beech Avenue in Allegheny City, now Pittsburgh’s Allegheny West neighborhood on the North Side; and,

WHEREAS, Paula K. Davis was born and raised in the North Side, graduated from Gateway High School in Monroeville and earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Master of Arts in communications from the University of Pittsburgh; and,

WHEREAS, the Brother’s Brother Foundation (BBF), located on Pittsburgh’s North Side, has been an instrumental force in promoting health equity in Pittsburgh, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the United States of America, and beyond since 1958; and,

Resolution authorizing the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh to acquire all the City's Right, Title and Interest, if any, in and to the following Publicly-Owned properties in the 3rd Ward of the City of Pittsburgh designated in the Deed Registry Office of Allegheny County as Block 11-A, Lots 36 and 42, and Block 11-E, Lots 304 and 306 (North side of Reed Street, between Heldman and Roberts streets, and east side of Miller Street, north of Colwell - Council District No. 6).

Resolution amending Resolution number 863 of 2018, entitled “adopting and approving the 2019 Community Development Block Grant Program” by transferring remaining funds from the James Street Step Reconstruction project to the North Side Christian Health Center ($90,220.54).

Resolution authorizing the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh to acquire all the City's Right, Title and Interest, if any, in and to the Publicly-Owned property in the 12th Ward of the City of Pittsburgh designated in the Deed Registry Office of Allegheny County as Block 124-J, Lot 238 (north side of Larimer Avenue, east of Meadow Street - Council District No. 9).

Resolution authorizing the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh to acquire all the City's Right, Title and Interest, if any, in and to the following Publicly-Owned properties in the 25th and 26th Ward of the City of Pittsburgh designated in the Deed Registry Office of Allegheny County as Block 22-D, Lot 216, and Block 46-J, Lots 35 and 37 (north side of Brightridge Street between Brighton Road and North Charles Street, 511 Chester Avenue, and south side of Chester Avenue west of Holyoke Street - Council District No. 6).

Resolution authorizing the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh to acquire all the City's Right, Title and Interest, if any, in and to the Publicly-Owned Property in the 12th Ward of the City of Pittsburgh designated in the Deed Registry Office of Allegheny County as Lot 125-B, Lot 46 (Council District No. 9 - Lincoln Avenue - north side of Lincoln Avenue east of Winslow Street).

Resolution authorizing the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh to acquire all the City's right, title and interest, if any, in and to the publicly-owned properties in the 12th Ward of the City of Pittsburgh designated in the Deed Registry Office of Allegheny County as Block 125-G, Lots 42, 43, 51, and 64, located at the north side of Kelly Street, between 5th Avenue on the west and the railroad right-of-way on the east, and the south side of Frankstown Avenue, also between 5th Avenue on the west and the railroad right-of-way on the east (Council District No. 9).

Resolution authorizing the Mayor and the Director of the Department of Finance to enter into Access Agreements with Collective Efforts, LLC, for two City-owned sites located at 700 Herron Avenue and 3300 Webster Avenue to conduct a Phase II Environmental Assessment and further authorizing the Mayor and Director of the Department of Finance to enter into any necessary agreement or agreements with North Side Industrial Development Company to document the terms of its use of U.S. Environmental Protection Agency grant funds to cover the costs of these assessments.

Resolution further amending Resolution No. 863 of 2018, effective January 1, 2019, as amended, entitled “Resolution adopting and approving the 2019 Capital Budget and the 2019 Community Development Block Grant Program, and the 2019 through 2024 Capital Improvement Program” by reducing CHILDREN 2 CHAMPIONS - NORTH SHORE STALLIONS by $12,500, increasing NORTH SIDE YOUTH ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION by $12,500, and authorizing a subsequent Agreement or Agreements for operation/administrative expenses, maintenance, purchase of equipment, and/or rehabilitation of neighborhood facilities on behalf of the residents of the City of Pittsburgh.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby recognizes and honors the 2019 awardees and extends gratitude to each individual and organization for making the North Side a great place to live, work, and play; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council acknowledges the efforts that the NSLC has achieved through collaboration within the community and corporate organizations and hereby declares July 2019 to be “Northside Leadership Conference and Awardees Month” in the City of Pittsburgh.

Resolution adopting the Plan Revision to the City of Pittsburgh’s Official Sewage Facilities Plan for the 21st and Smallman - Mixed Commercial Development project. The existing buildings will be or have been demolished and new buildings will be a mixture of restaurant, retail and office space. Parking will be provided via a three-level parking deck over existing surface parking. The site is located on the north side of Smallman Street, between 21st and 23rd Streets, in the 2nd Ward of the City of Pittsburgh 15222.

Resolution adopting the Plan Revision to the City of Pittsburgh’s Official Sewage Facilities Plan for the Pittsburgh Produce Terminal Redevelopment project. The existing building will be converted from produce warehouse/office space into a combination retail/ restaurant/ entertainment and office center. The parking lot to the rear will be updated to current standards. The site is located on the north side of Smallman Street, between 16th and 21st Streets, in the 2nd Ward of the City of Pittsburgh 15222.

Resolution authorizing, pursuant to Chapter 173 section 2 (“Commission on Naming Public Properties”) of the City Code, the Mayor to name the North Side section of the Three Rivers Heritage Trail after former Mayor Thomas J. Murphy in recognition of the 25th Anniversary of his Inauguration as the 57th Mayor of Pittsburgh. (Public Hearing held 2/19/19)

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby honor Ed Graf celebrating his 80th birthday wishing him many, many more along with applauding all the contributions of Ed and Mary Ann in the development of the Priory Hotel, Grand Hall and the community, and Ed’s years of distinguished service and outstanding contributions to the North Side and the City of Pittsburgh having a reach, locally, nationally and internationally. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that in celebration and continuation of his birthday, rich contributions and wonderful life, the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare the week of September 18th through the 25th, 2018 to be “HAPPY BIRTHDAY ED GRAF WEEK” in the City of Pittsburgh.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby memorialize Barbara Luderowski celebrating her life of 88 years including 41 years of distinguished service to the Mattress Factory museum and her outstanding contributions to the North Side, the City of Pittsburgh and the art community, locally, nationally and internationally. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that in celebration of her wonderful life the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare the week of September 10th through the 16th, 2018 to be “Barbara Luderowski Week” in the City of Pittsburgh.

Resolution adopting the Plan Revision to the City of Pittsburgh’s Official Sewage Facilities Plan for the Mintwood Condominiums project which will involve the repurposing of the existing warehouse building, located along the north side of Mintwood Street, between Denny and 37th Street, in the 6th Ward of the City of Pittsburgh.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend Work (formerly Team Tassy), the North Side Leadership Council, Allegheny General Hospital and the residents and business community of the North Side for their success in helping the people of their sister neighborhoods Menelas and Cite Soleil work their way out of extreme poverty through finding and maintaining dignified, family-sustaining jobs; and, BE IT FUTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, October 10th, 2017 to be “Work Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

Resolution amending Resolution 8 of 2017 following the submission of additional information regarding the Plan Revision to the City of Pittsburgh’s Official Sewage Facilities Plan for the Penn @ Eighth Development located along the north side of Penn Avenue, between Maddock Place and Eighth Street in the 2nd Ward of the City of Pittsburgh.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby recognizes and honors the 2017 awardees and extends gratitude to each individual and organization for making the North Side a great place to live, work, and play; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council acknowledges the efforts that the NSLC has achieved through collaboration within the community and corporate organizations and hereby declares June 2017 to be “Northside Leadership Conference and Awardees Month” in the City of Pittsburgh.

Resolution adopting Plan Revision to the City of Pittsburgh’s Official Sewage Facilities Plan for the Penn @ Eighth Development which will be located along the north side of Penn Avenue, between Maddock Place and Eighth Street in the 2nd Ward of the City of Pittsburgh. The complex will consist of 4 buildings (two existing and two proposed) with the main addresses being 725, 731, 737 Penn Avenue and 150 Eighth Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that as the EACC Pumpkinfest celebrates its twenty-fifth anniversary, the Council of the City of Pittsburgh wishes to recognize and thank all who work to make it such a superb event for the North Side each and every year; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Saturday, October 8th to be “EACC Pumpkinfest Day” in the City of Pittsburgh!

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby proclaim that Pittsburgh’s North Side and the Port au Prince localities of Cite de Soleil and Menelas are sister neighborhoods, and does also encourage the work of Allegheny General Hospital, the Priory Hotel and other North Side residents and business to support the residents of Cite de Soleil and Menelas in accordance with the long tradition of North Siders’ generosity in aiding those less fortunate.

Resolution adopting Plan Revision to the City of Pittsburgh’s Official Sewage Facilities Plan for the Hillel Academy Addition located at 5706 Bartlett Street on the north side of Bartlett Street between Murray Avenue and Wightman Street in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, 15217.

Resolution granting unto COA North Side LLC, their successors and assigns, the privilege and license to construct, maintain and use at their own cost and expense, two handicap ramps with handrails on either side and a landing at 40 West North Avenue, 22nd Ward, Council District 1 of the City of Pittsburgh, USA.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby recognizes and honors the 2016 awardees and extends gratitude to each individual and organization for making the North Side a great place to live, work, and play; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council acknowledges the efforts that the NSLC has achieved through collaboration within the community and corporate organizations and hereby declares June 2016 to be “Northside Leadership Conference and Awardees Month” in the City of Pittsburgh.

Resolution adopting Plan Revision to the City of Pittsburgh’s Official Sewage Facilities Plan for the Arlington Spray Park project which is located on the north side of Forth Hill Street between Fernleaf and Sterling Streets, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15201.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize and commend Schorr Bakery for serving the North Side delicious handmade baked goods for over 40 years; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, March 1, 2016 to be “Schorr Bakery Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize and commend Metropolitan Baptist Church for serving the North Side’s black community for 165 years; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Sunday, November 8th, 2015 to be "Metropolitan Baptist Church Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Saturday, June 20, 2015 to be “St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Croatian Church North Side Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize and honor Don Waltmire and his Pharmacy for serving the communities of the North Side for the past thirty years, and providing an unmatched level of care and customer service; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare February 26th, 2015 to be “Don Waltmire’s Pharmacy Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby recognizes and honors the 2014 awardees and extends gratitude to each individual and organization for making the North Side a great place to live, work and play; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council acknowledges the efforts that the NSLC has achieved through collaboration within the community and corporate organizations and hereby declares June, 2014 to be “Northside Leadership Conference and Awardees Month” in the City of Pittsburgh.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby acknowledges the many contributions of the 2011 awardees and extends gratitude to each individual and organization for making the North Side a great place to live, work and play; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council acknowledges the efforts that the NSLC has achieved through collaboration with community and corporate organizations and hereby declares June 2011 to be "Northside Leadership Conference and Awardees Month in the City of Pittsburgh."

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize the Penn Brewery for hosting Pennsylvania Microbrewer's Fest bringing fun and feast to the North Side for the 15th year and for turning an old, historic building back to its original life as a Brewhaus 25 years ago and does hereby proclaim Saturday, June 4, 2011 "Pennsylvania Microbrewer's Fest Day at the Penn Brewery 2011 Day" in the City of Pittsburgh, and wishes a happy 25th anniversary to the Penn Brewery.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of City of Pittsburgh praises Leadership Pittsburgh for promoting, and showing everyone the wonderful North Side neighborhood of Fineview and does declare Saturday, May 21, 2011 "Fineview and Leadership Pittsburgh Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby commends Speaking of… and its founders for bringing spoken word art, to Pittsburgh and the North Side and does declare Tuesday, May 3, 2011 “Speaking of…Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh remembers the Carnegie Free Library of Allegheny for providing 105 years of resources and services to the North Side and the city as a whole.
