A motion recognizing and commending Mayor Ras J. Baraka for initiating the free COVID-19 testing program for Newark residents, in addition to Mr. Raul Malave, Assistant Public Safety Director, for his outstanding management and administration of the COVID-19 testing program, which has reduced the prevalence and spread of the deadly virus within the City of Newark.

A motion requesting that the Department of Engineering, Division of Code Enforcement, investigate and cite, if warranted, the Dollar Tree store located on Springfield Avenue Newark the Shoprite supermarket, for failure to properly clean and maintain its property; furthermore, requesting that the Division submit to the Municipal Council, through the City Clerk’s Office, the process and policy used by the City to close establishments that are chronic abusers of the City cleaning ordinance.
