Resolution providing for the implementation of the Residential Parking Permit Program (RPPP) Area “HH” in the Central Northside community (Council Districts #1 and #6) pursuant to Pittsburgh Code Chapter 549.

Resolution amending Resolution No. 739, approved November 27, 2012, providing for the implementation of a Residential Parking Permit Program (RPPP) Area “CC” in the Southside Flats community (Council District #3) to expand the area to include additional addresses pursuant to the Pittsburgh Code Chapter 549.

Resolution amending Resolution No. 755, effective December 14, 2012, which authorized the City of Pittsburgh to enter into a contract in a form approved by the City Solicitor, for the construction, maintenance and repair of an automated fuel dispensing system to provide fueling operations for the use by various City of Pittsburgh Departments, by increasing the total project allocation by $300,000, from $500,000 to $800,000, and amending the relevant job numbers.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend and congratulate Sister Olga Marie Faryna for her dedication to her work, and the entire City of Pittsburgh; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare June 12, 2013 to be “Sister Olga Marie Faryna Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

Now, therefore be it resolved, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize Jerry Bortman, Jerry Livingston, and Robin Cole and the Obediah Cole Foundation for Prostate Cancer for their remarkable dedication to educating the public and promoting early detection of prostate cancer; and Be it further resolved, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Sunday, June 16, 2913, to be “Obediah Cole Foundation 5K/10K Runwalk Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend the Delta Foundation of Pittsburgh and Pittsburgh Pride for its diligent work in increasing the awareness of the LGBT community and promoting diversity in the Pittsburgh region; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare the month of June 2013 to be “Pittsburgh Pride Month” in the City of Pittsburgh.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does not support the legalization of predatory payday lending practices in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania; and THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh urges the Pennsylvania State Legislature to reject Senate Bill 975.
