NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize and support the Mahatma Gandhi Birthday Celebration 2018 and celebrates the Alliance for Humanitarian Initiatives, Nonviolence and Spiritual Advancement (AHINSA) and its partners for celebrating Gandhi’s teachings in Pittsburgh, promoting peace, cultural understanding, and non-violence, and helping to build a Pittsburgh for all; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare October 2, 2018 to be “Mahatma Gandhi Day and International Day of Non-Violence” in the City of Pittsburgh.
