NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend and congratulate Cathy Lewis, Matt Hannigan and The Sprout Fund for a remarkable 17 year operation in which they lifted Pittsburgh from a city synonymous with the aging Rust Belt to a thriving city that is a nationally known hotbed of innovators and who spearheaded partnerships with regional and national foundations to help power the grassroots response to a wide range of social , environmental and economic challenges; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, June 19, 2018, to be “THE SPROUT FUND DAY” in the City of Pittsburgh.
