NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby denounces the federal government’s proposal to erase transgender, non-binary, gender expansive and genderqueer individuals from existence, and; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council calls on Congress to ensure equal protection under the law for all individuals, including the basic need to acknowledge and respect people of all gender identities, and denounces the Trump Administration’s attacks on the rights and humanity of transgender people.
