WHEREAS, the Obey House, as it is known today, was built in 1823 by John Obey. It is among the oldest tavern in or around Pittsburgh. At the time it was built, the area was considered Chartiers Township and was annexed to the City of Pittsburgh in 1921 and is located in the Crafton Heights neighborhood; and,
