NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby recognizes and honors our region's Swiss immigrants for their industry, skills and good citizenship, for they have contributed to Pittsburgh's rich cultural heritage; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh recognizes the efforts of the current singers, including Director Stephen Lipnichan, President Conrad Ostertag, Vice President Lyndall Huggler, Secretary Treasurer Andrew Schwarz, and all other members for sustaining and enhancing the Schweizer Männerchor Helvetia of Allegheny City for 140 years; and BE IT EVEN FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare June 7, 2014 to be “Schweizer Männerchor Helvetia of Allegheny City Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.
