NOW , THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh supports the efforts of Senator Casey to prohibit employers from denying pregnant workers employment or reasonable accommodations during the course of pregnancy, childbirth or other related medical conditions, through the introduction of the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh calls upon the Members of the Senate and House of Representatives of the 114th United States Congress to support Senate Bill 1512 and House Bill 2654, to establish, clarify, and guarantee the rights of pregnant workers in the United States of America. A copy of this Will of Council shall be circulated to Senators Casey and Toomey, Congressman Doyle, and President Obama.
