NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby note the importance of recognizing the American Flag through the established holiday of Flag Day each June 14th and commends and congratulates the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy for its forward thinking and visionary plan to preserve and display the Pittsburgh Flag Monument in a new more highly visible and easily accessible location for the benefit of the citizens of Pittsburgh; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, June 14, 2016, to be “FLAG DAY” and “PITTSBURGH FLAG MONUMENT DAY” in the City of Pittsburgh.
