NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize Ashley Priore and the Queen’s Gambit Chess Institute, Officer David Shifren and the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police, and other organizations and individuals who promote the game of chess and advance a culture of learning in Pittsburgh; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare the week of October 1-October 8 to be “Chess Week” in the City of Pittsburgh.
